Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is an organization that deliver Chistmas Gifts to children that would otherwise not receive any. I found this through Somewhat Simple, a creative blog that I follow. The program is a Christian based organization and is super easy to become involved in.
  1. Get a Shoe Box (wrap the box and lid seprately)
  2. Fill it with gifts (small toys, school supplies, personal hygeine items...etc)
  3. Enclose a note and/or picture if desired
  4. Take it to a drop-off location (believe me, if there is a site near me, there is a site near you)

Click here for more information and to find a drop-off location near you...

Operation Christmas Child

Get woking quick, the drop off dates are Nov 16-23!!

I decided to try it out with my Cub Scouts, since I needed a service project to complete their Citizenship Bolt Loop.
They loved it and were shocked that some kids did not receive gifts!...One scout was quick to remind me that Santa would give the kids gifts though :)

We are a small group, but we learned that even kids can be a hero to someone!

Happy Birthday Sydney!

When I was first getting to know Kenny, he told me that his oldest Sister had 2 kids and one in the oven!
That little bundle bakin' in the oven was SYDNEY!
It has been fun to watch little Sydney grow up.
She is now an energetic 4 year old!

5 Reasons We Love Sydney

  1. I asked Tanner why he loves Sydney and he said, "Because she's my friend."
  2. She is an adorable bundle of spunk and energy...right up Tanner ally!
  3. She loves to help and take care of people!
  4. She is an amazing ballerina (or hula) dancer. You should have seen her working that tu-tu yesterday!
  5. She is all girl and yet all Tom-boy! This is one girly-girl that doesn't have any trouble fitting in with the boys (and that seems to be what we raise best here).

Happy Birthday Sydney...Hope it was great!

Tanner and Sydney's Birthday Party

We had a John Deere Tractor/Tinker Bell Party!
Sounds interesting?...Well, you would be surprised how well the colors go together!
Tanner came in with this hat and said,
"I am the Party!"

Tanner's John Deere Tractor Cake
I was pretty happy with the way this turned out! I decided to freehand a tractor rather than use the shape of one, because I wanted different color layers!

Yellow and Green
Sydney's Tinker Bell cake.
I didn't get a really good picture, but Kim did awesome on this!
Remote Control Car...thank you Alabama Grandma and Hoppa!
Tractor...thank you Preston and Payson!
More Tractors...classic Tanner cheese!
Baseball player in the making...I guess we had better work on that form.
This is our homemade Pinate'!
My little party animal!
That hat only stayed on long enough to take a picture.
Thanks to all who came...we had a great time with family and friends.

Finger...or, um, arm...painting!

A fun painting project.
The tree trunk is his arm, and the leaves on the ground are finger prints.
We framed Tanner's masterpiece.
I wasn't ready to venture into fingerpainting with a 15 month old yet!
He got some cars to play with.

Happy Birthday Tanner

My little boy is three years old!
I don't know where the time has gone, but it has been wonderful.
Tanner is a non-stop bundle of energy and activity.
He ALWAYS keeps me on my toes, and...
I wouldn't have it any other way!

Halloween

I know, I have let you all down, but we weren't too creative for Halloween this year.
Curious George
Tanner's costume I made two years ago
Elmo
Tanner's costume for last year.
He really wanted to wear it again this year, so what's a mom to do?
A bunch of our family came over for a fun, very casual halloween party...
Hailey and Tanner won the Pin the Face on the Pumkin game.
Doesn't Tanner have the greatest cheeses you have EVER seen?!
Sydney and Hailey
Ghost cookies
Perfect treat for kids to make
We were football player!
The boys at our ward party.
Tanner and his friend Briann, in the costume parade.
They were holding hands and it was so cute!
We had a fun and safe Halloween, and we hope you all did too!

The First Snow

The sun was out while it was snowing. I tried to gwet a picture, but you can't really see the snow...oh well!

I bundled the boy up the next day, and we had some fun. We didn't have too much, but enought to make a little snow man and run around.
My SIL ways that he looks like the kids from The Christmas Story.
The poor guy reallly couldn't move too well, but he still had fun.
